Vocations
The Old Catholic Union of the West (OCUW) is a credal church that embraces a rich tradition of faith, community, and service. We believe that every individual is called to live out their vocation, whether through ordained ministry, religious life, or lay leadership. Our clerical and religious vocations offer a unique opportunity for men, women, and non-binary individuals to serve God and others in a spirit of love, prayer, and justice. We invite those who feel called to explore their vocation within a welcoming and inclusive community that upholds the teachings of Christ and the early church.
Clergy within OCUW are dedicated to pastoral care, sacramental ministry, and the proclamation of the Gospel. Whether as priests, deacons, or bishops, our clergy are committed to serving the needs of their congregations and the wider community. Religious vocations, including friars and sisters, center around a life of prayer, service, and communal living, with a focus on supporting marginalized individuals and families. Our charism is expressed through compassion, humility, and a deep commitment to living out the Gospel message.
Our path to ministry is one of spiritual formation, theological education, and personal growth. We offer both contemplative and active ministries, encouraging each candidate to discern their unique calling and gifts. OCUW is committed to fostering a diverse community of leaders who uphold the values of inclusivity, social justice, and love for all of God’s people.
